I offer compassionate support and tailored treatment plans designed to promote healing and resilience for adults (18+) with common mental health problems using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). My areas of focus include Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, Stress, Panic Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In addition, I specialise in Long Term Health Conditions and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Your mental health is my priority and I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment.

For more than 20 years, I have dedicated my career to helping others. First in education (Bachelor of Education), then as a social worker (Masters of Clinical Social Work) and now as a mental health psychotherapist (Post Graduate Diploma). I have worked as a CBT & EMDR therapist for the NHS since 2019.

I am BABCP accredited, and I meet the standards of education, training, supervision, work experience and personal development of the lead organisation for CBT in the UK. I also meet the requirements to provide EMDR Therapy.

I am originally from Canada, which means I have a funny accent, but also the kindness and compassion that my nation is famous for.

 

About CBT & EMDR

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing how you think and behave. CBT offers effective but common-sense solutions to a range of psychological problems and can help you to make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller parts.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a comprehensive psychotherapy that helps you process and recover from past experiences that are affecting your mental health and wellbeing. It involves using side to side eye movements combined with talk therapy in a specific and structured format.

What to expect:

Following assessment, we will agree your goals and priorities for treatment. You can expect kindness and empathy for the difficulties that you are experiencing. Then together, we can explore how your problem developed, identify unhelpful behaviours/cognitions that are maintaining your problem day-to-day and master effective ways to cope with these.

Fees

An initial consultation (where there is no therapy) is approximately 20 minutes and free of charge. Sessions are currently offered via telephone or video through Microsoft Teams.

 

CBT Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and are priced at £90 per session. A block of 6 sessions is £490.

EMDR sessions are 90 minutes and are priced at £110 per session. A block of 6 sessions is £600.

 

Emergency Services, front line health and social workers are offered a reduced rate. Please contact for further details.

 

Payment is due prior to the session via bank transfer.
